This 1936 Epiphone Deluxe comes from my personal collection and is the finest Epiphone archtop I have ever played. The playability is remarkable, following a complete refret, done by Mark Lacey, and the sound unmatched by any Epiphone I have played if one is looking for an archtop that has a balance between classic archtop punch and the even, balanced tone desired for solo/chord melody or solo accompaniment. This is a guitar that can do it all well. This is truly an exceptional example.
The guitar has new, reproduction Grover Sta-tite tuners of the period correct style to replace the inappropriately styled Gotoh tuners that were on it when it came to us. The back of the neck appears to have been refinished fairly recently, but the remaining finish appears all original. The Frequensator tailpiece appears to have had a very well done, small area of brazing repair at the usual area of the bend in the tail plate. The guitar is 100% free of cracks, breaks, or other repairs.
