The Zephyr Deluxe Regent blonde was the Epiphone competitor to the Gibson L-5 CESN. This one comes fitted with the original NY Tone Spectrum single coil pickups (bridge rewound by Kent Armstrong). It also has the cloud fretboard inlays which is the original design used for the Epiphone Deluxe, in contrast to many Deluxe Regents from this era that have the Emperor split block inlays. The maple used for the body is nicely flamed, particularly on the top. The neck is 5-ply maple with a beautiful barberpole flame.

The guitar plays nicely with low action and the frets are in great condition due to a fairly recent refret and replacement bone nut. The neck has a nice, comfortable C-shape. The all original neck pickup has a wonderful, full, warm tone with just the right amount of top end on tap. These pickups tend to be variable in sound quality, so its nice to find one that sounds great. The bridge pickup is fairly weak in contrast, but is still quite usable.

The tuners, tailpiece, and control knobs are all original. The bridge and switch tip are replacements.
