TRM is excited to present this gorgeous Buscarino Virtuoso. Made by one of the premier archtop builders in the world, John Buscarino, this guitar made in 2011 presents in essentially like new condition. While it has been played lightly, I can find no identifiable signs of wear. The finish looks flawless. The virtuoso represents the pinnacle of the Buscarino archtop line, and a new one has a base price of $30,000.
This example has a Venention cutaway body with a 17-inch lower bout width and a depth of 3 inches. The top is made of master grade spruce and the back and sides are strikingly figured maple. The neck is 3-piece maple with a solid black ebony fingerboard. The bridge, tailpiece, and pickguard are made of ebony.
Stunning details include the sytlized fleur-de-lys "Virtuoso" inlays in the fingerboard, headstock and tailpiece. The use of burl overlays on the front and back of the headstock and birdseye maple binding add to the elegance of this superbly crafted instrument. Also note the finely scalloped bone nut which measures 1.80" wide. The player is also reward with a "Virtuoso" shaped sound port, giving improved access to the sound of the instrument, as well as a visually beautiful design element.
The electronics include a custom wound, signature Buscarino floating pickup, housed an ebony cover, wired to under the pickguard tone and volume controls. This is all routed to an endpin jack. The guitar also comes with a custom set of f-hole plugs to reduce feedback when playing amplified.
The guitar plays beautifully with the wider neck being especially nice for fingerstyle players, or those with larger fingers. The neck is mostly C-shaped with a very slight flattening to the back giving it a bit of a D-shaped feel. The neck is beautifully straight with level frets, allowing for the action to be adjusted up or down as the player prefers. The frets show no identifiable signs of wear.
