Inspired by the classic guitars of John D'Angelico whose guitar shop was on Kenmare Street in Manhattan, this example shows a headstock reminiscent of some of those guitars and a wooden (ebony) tailpiece with a stairstep design that also recalls the classic art deco design of the D'Angelico tailpiece.  The build is that of a parallel braced, 17-inch archtop of the big band era.  This guitar is made of all solid woods with a spruce top and maple back and sides.  The top and back are arched and fully carved.  The ebony fretboard is inlayed with mother of pearl in the style of a D'Angelico New Yorker.

While most of the guitar is very D'Angelico inspired, the ebony bridge takes it's inspiration more from Jimmy D'Aquisto's work and has been made quite light weight due to the base being hollowed out. An additional modern feature is a sound port in the bass side of the upper bout, giving the player more of the direct sound of the guitar. The result is a guitar that is remarkably responsive with big punch, sounding very much like some of the best of the vintage archtops of the 1940s.  For those who want to plug in, the guitar also features a pickguard mounted Kent Armstrong handwound 12-pole Slimbucker.

The guitar plays beautifully with a wonderfully carved, full feeling, C-shaped neck.  The action is fast with room to adjust either up or down.  All notes ring out clearly at all frets.  The guitar shows scattered finish dings and light surface scratches, some of which are individually pictured.  The guitar has been played professionally, and while this means it's not in pristine condition, it has had the opportunity to open up nicely and sounds wonderful.
